outer right foot.

I run pretty frequently, and I recently did a 10 K for the first time. The next day, I had extremely mild irritation in the outer (not arch) part of my right foot. I ignored it, because it wasn't severe, and went for a 3 mi. run two days later, and it's been a strange coming and going pain ever since. Sometime it's sharp, sometimes it feels like it's been in the same position for too long. Also, it doesn't hurt to touch it, flex it or contract it--Just when I walk on it and happen to come down on it the wrong way. it's more toward the back of my foot, and more the underside/exact side of my foot. Also, I feel a crinkling sensation occationally when I contract/flex.

I know it's a hefty description, but I know that helps determine a specific diagnosis, and I'm out of the running (literally) until I can get better. :( Do you have any idea about what it could be, and better yet, how to heal it?

Thank you so much for any help. I'm itching to get back out on the trails, but I know better! :)

Quag Heel cushions for heel spurs and plantar fasciitis. When your first steps getting out of bed in the mornings cause pain in your heel, you may have plantar fasciitis.
