Our 10-year-old daughter has such severe flat-footedness that she's practically walking on her anke bone. The podiatrist is recommending a surgery (can't remember what it's called) where they place a bolt kind of thing in her ankle. She has autism which will probably complicate everything.
Before we give the go ahead for this procedure I'd like to know what kind of pain is involved. She'll have trouble conveying how much pain she's in and I'd really like to know what we can do to help her.

Quag Heel cushions for heel spurs and plantar fasciitis. When your first steps getting out of bed in the mornings cause pain in your heel, you may have plantar fasciitis.
