Steel Toe shoe and Big toe pain

I have been having a heck of a time with steel toe shoes. I have 3 pair of shoes now with the last one costing me $250 that I can not wear. I am a large man (330 lbs) with my right foot being very wide. The shoes seem to be ok at first but after about 4 hours the outside of my big toe starts hurting and when I take the shoes off it is very red and sore. The last pair of shoes I got are P.W, minor 9 1/2 5E's. I at a lost of what to do. Is there somebody that makes a large toe cap that has some padding in it? My toe seems to rub against the side of the metal. I have yet to find a pair that has any kind of cushion inside the toe cap.
